#3 - The Jewel by Amy Ewing

The Jewel - Amy Ewing

The whole concept of the surrogates was quite revolting and interesting. I think it's the kind of things that could happen in these circumstances (if women who have money could not have babies.... Most people think money can get you what you want!). It was original and creepy.

Violet is a great main character, she is kind of normal and she makes rational decisions most of the time. Well sometimes she is stupid, but given her situation I'm sure most of us would react stupidly as well..

My main problem was the romance. It's not that I did not like it (Ash is great! ) but it happened too fast. Violet met him and out of the blue they are in love. That was weird. I get it that they want to be together, that they feel alone and abused but still, it went too fast.

I enjoyed this book and I will continue on the series. I want to know what will happen to Raven and to Violet and Ash, I want to know more about the Duchess because she is mysterious and i think she has big secrets to share.. I was expecting not to like it that much after the bad reviews I had read, but it was afterall a really pleasant read with great ideas.
