Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

Into the Wild - Jon Krakauer

This is one of these rare cases where I watched the movie before reading the book. And because of that I did not enjoy the book that much. The story of McCandless is so interesting and I can easily understand why he chose this lifestyle. I just don't understand why he was so reckless. Anyway, the movie is beautiful because you really care for Alex and what might happen to him, in the book, you just don't really care because you already knows what happened to him. But then, it is not supposed to be a fiction book so that makes sense. Jon Krakauer did a lot of research on McCandles before writing this book, but I think that some of the facts were not that interesting and so the book was a bit slow and a bit too long.

Still, this  is a beautiful story and it makes you question yourself about your lifestyle.
